On Sunday, August 27th, we held a conference call in which Rabbi Fohrman fielded questions and comments about the Judah and Tamar story, and elaborated some of the ramifications of the story as they carry forward into the Book of Samuel. Insofar as the Judah and Tamar story seems to speak of kingship in potentiality, the Book of Samuel seems to carry forward these themes into the realm of actuality.
