"What Does it Mean to Forgive? A Closer Look at Joseph and His Brothers will run for four weeks, starting September 18th, and will be conducted entirely online. As a participant in the course, you will have access to all of the following:
-
Weekly lectures (once they are posted, you can access them anytime you want, or download them to your computer).
-
Discussion boards through which you can exchange ideas, questions and feedback with other participants and with Rabbi Fohrman.
-
Powerpoint style slide shows that review and augment the material.
-
Lecture notes and source material.
How Registration Works:
Go to the "Online Course Offerings" section from the website, and pre-register for the course. When registering, you will encounter a shipping option. Since the course is being done online, there are no shipping charges, so make sure to click the bottom option: "Online Class; No Shipping Required".
Once you register, you will be contacted by email within 24-48 hours. In that email, you will be asked to fill out a short student survey, which will help Rabbi Fohrman better tailor the course to meet your needs and level. You must fill out this survey to complete your registration.
How to Participate in the Class Once You Complete Your Registration.
Once the class begins on September 18th, lectures will be posted weekly, each Sunday. Other material such as powerpoints, lecture notes, and sources, will also be posted each week. All of this will be available to you through the "Online Classes Home" section of this website. You will need a passcode to access this section, which you will receive from us by email at least a few days before September 18th.
The lectures are the backbone of the course. You are free to listen to them at your leisure, anytime you like over the course of the week (once they are posted on the website, they will remain there for you to access through the duration of the course, but its best to listen to them the week they are posted, so you will be with everyone else and can participate in the discussion boards, if you so desire).
Once you listen to the week's lecture, check out the discussion board section of the course, where you can interact with other participants, and with Rabbi Fohrman. Feel free to post your observations, questions and reflections. Rabbi Fohrman will participate by posting his comments and responses, sometimes in written form, and at other times, by posting brief audio responses. These responses will be available to you through the discussion board section of the course.
In addition to the lectures and discussions, you will also have access to downloadable lecture notes, and from time to time, powerpoint presentations as well. These powerpoints will either review or augment the lectures, depending on the week.
